Sonic’s successful rear-mount starter driveline packages are now available with a magnesium bellhousing, reducing package weight by 4 lbs. These packages combine the features of the Sonic Aluminum Driveline Package (http://www.tiltonracing.com/content.php?page=list2&id=225&m=d) and Tilton’s 52-Series UTGC Magnesium Driveline Package (http://www.tiltonracing.com/content.php?page=list2&id=247&m=d) to provide outstanding performance and value.
Features:
- Magnesium Bellhousing: Weighs 7.4 lbs… 4 lbs lighter than aluminum version. Rigid design eliminates power-robbing driveline flex. Blueprinted (parallelism & concentricity) for accurate alignment.
- 5.5” Metallic Clutch: Low inertia offers excellent acceleration and deceleration. Designed for use with a 1.5” contact diameter release bearing to provide unmatched modulation and drivability. Available in 2 or 3-plate.
- Flywheel: 8.92” (105-tooth) diameter. Machined from heat-treated 4140 billet steel to provide a low moment-of-inertia, superior heat dissipation for longer clutch life and greatly extended ring gear life.
- Hydraulic Release Bearing: Bellhousing mounted. All clearances are preset at the factory. Self-adjusts for clutch wear.
- Starter: 1.9 HP gear reduction starter. 9-tooth pinion gear.
